San Diego police serving search warrants at marijuana dispensaries arrested eight people and seized more than 30 pounds of marijuana and cash during raids this week, according to a news release.

On Wednesday police served a search warrant at a business called Alternate Patient Care (APC) located on 30th Street near Monroe Avenue. Police discovered a second business called Fast Grass was operating out of the same location.

They seized 30 pounds of marijuana, four grams of methamphetamine, cannabis concentrate and edibles and cash. Four people including the two owners and two employees were arrested for operating a business without a license, marijuana sales and possession of a controlled substance, the release said.

At Fast Grass police seized 11 pounds of marijuana, $1,800 in cash, edibles and concentrates, and arrested two employees for operating with no business license and marijuana sales.

On Thursday warrants were served on an illegal dispensary on Miramar Road near Distribution Avenue called Mother Earth. There police said they seized a half-pound of marijuana, $500 in cash, and marijuana concentrates and edibles. The manager was arrested for possession of marijuana for sale and operating without a business permit, according to police.

Police said the searches and arrests were part of ongoing efforts to target illegal marijuana delivery services and illegal marijuana businesses in the city.
