Summer Travel Season Begins On Memorial Day Weekend
VICTORVILLE, CA - MAY 25: Drivers get a head-start on the three-day holiday weekend in spite of record-high Memorial Day weekend gas prices along the main traffic corridor on Interstate 15 through Cajon Pass, leading from Los Angeles and San Diego to Las Vegas, Nevada on May 25, 2007 near Victorville, California. The American Automobile Association (AAA) expects approximately 38 million Americans to travel 50 miles or more this weekend, a 1.7 percent increase from last year's holiday. About 83 per cent of them will drive, with the remainder taking airplanes, trains or other transportation. (Photo by David McNew/Getty Images)
