Institute offers course on growing more sustainable cannabis

The Solar Living Institute, a demonstration site for renewable energy in Northern California, is offering a daylong introduction course on growing more sustainable cannabis. The course will be taught by master growers and will cover how to save water, how to grow organically, how to fight pests naturally and more.

• When: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 20

State to hold licensing workshop in Monterey

The Bureau of Cannabis Control will host a workshop on what information is needed and what resources are available for people planning to apply for state commercial cannabis licenses. The free workshop will include a brief overview and then transition to an open house where people can ask questions of different state and local agencies. The California Department of Public Health, California Department of Food and Agriculture and California Department of Tax and Fee Administration will also participate.

Pop-up fitness event returns to San Francisco

MoonMan’s Mistress, a San Francisco-based cannabis edibles company, is gearing up for its next Burn & Baked fitness course.  All fitness levels are welcome to join the 55-minute boot camp-style workout. The fitness challenge promotes healthy and responsible use of cannabis for healing, performance and recovery. The event is limited to 30 participants and no cannabis consumption will be allowed on site, though participants will get to take home CBD products.

Cannabis film festival coming to Palm Springs

The Palm Springs Cultural Center is putting together a film festival, conveniently timed around the 420 marijuana holiday. The Palm Springs Film Festival & Summit will include film screenings, panel discussions, educational programs and social events such as yoga classes. And they’re accepting submissions for documentaries, feature films and shorts now.
